Prayer, the Most Powerful Form of the Spoken Word

We communicate with the living God through prayer, which is conservation spoken right from our heart to the One who created us. It is our lifeline, the way we converse with the all-knowing mighty and powerful God. God invites us to come boldly to His throne. We are to take on faith that when we bow our head in reverence, He hears. Not only does He hear when we do this, He hears us always, whether we are in the shower, cooking supper or dozing off to sleep, He is listening. The fact is we need also to hear Him and yet so many stumble over this and never even try. We can certainly go through life without ever uttering anything more than the salvation prayer, but what a sad life we live if we do that. God should be at the center of literally everything we do from the moment we receive salvation.

The scriptures contain powerful prayers, prayers inspired by God, some even written by Jesus Christ himself. These are not just empty words on a page in a book, they are very powerful, life giving words, designed to cause things to happen. God laid out everything we need to live a long healthy and victorious life. We have at our disposal words that are major weapons in the war against evil. By reading these prayers aloud, we release the power of these, which causes the angles to rejoice because they too hear them. God offers prayers for security, peace, healing, and deliverance. All of the scripture-based prayers line up with His will in His holy handbook, the Holy Bible.

If you can grasp the thought that prayer is simply conversation with God, it will open a completely new level to your relationship with the Father. The Holy Bible contains the living words of God. With these beautiful words, you can change your live and the lives of those around you. Transform from being “just” a Christian to being an empowered Holy Spirit led woman. If you feel you have ever hit bottom, or feel you are there now, take this lifeline, and climb out and into the light by seeking a closer relationship with God through prayer and Godly conversation.

  1. Conversation of God. That thought changed my prayer life. I was taught a formal prayer time. But knowing I can talk to God at any time and anywhere is a beautiful.

  2. Your post has me thinking…These past few months I often find myself “questioning” my prayer time. Not that He is not listening or answering :0). It’s more about HOW I pray. I have a tendency to talk to “myself” heehee…throughout the day. Daily to-do lists mostly! A few weeks ago I wrote a post myself about the willingness to listen to God while we are working. I often talk with God during those times as well. But are they prayers or conversations in my head??? Ok…lest you think I have multiple personality disorder, these conversation will often start with “Dear God..” so I start OFF with that salutation! Sometimes though I am rambling my thoughts…then off to a to-do list…back to God, etc. See the picture? I am reminded of verses that encourage to “pray without ceasing” and I think this is what is meant by that. Always being ready, willing, and able to pray at all times,no? Just throwing that out there for ya! Thanks for this post :0). Has me contemplating…

    • Oh yes Donnae! I have thought those things too! I’ve even thought I couldn’t talk to Him without being on my knees or locked up in a dark closet. But it is freeing to know that we can make every single thought subject to Him, because He’s with us always – and listening and talking! Keep at it! I’m sure this pleases Him more than we realize!
