My Pottery Barn Mantle

I will probably never have a fireplace, so a real mantle is out of the question for me. I have longed for the chance to decorate a mantle for all the seasons. I have missed all the mantle link parties on blogland because I didn’t have a mantle.

A girl can only take it so long you know!

I have drooled over this wonderful mantle from Pottery Barn. I love it. I knew it would be the perfect addition to my old farmhouse. After Christmas I bought this PB mantle as a late Christmas present for my house. (Don’t you give your house presents?)

Then I saw this same mantle up in all its grandeur over at Decor Chick.
That made me more anxious to get it. It was back ordered and I had to be patient.

It was worth the wait.

This thing is big, its beefy, its not for the faint of heart. It’s over six feet long. It is fantastic. Every time I look at this beauty of a mantle I smile.

I try to use some larger items throughout my home that make a focal point and statement in each room. Something that makes you take notice. This definitely does the trick!

After putting it up I threw up some of my green and white inspiration items and haven’t finished, but I couldn’t wait to show you my new family member!

What about you? Have you considered buying something special for your home that is unique and will add that statement and charm to your home?

I feel I can justify buying one big item, as most of what I add to my home is either cheap or free. But sometimes a splurge is okay. (wait till you see other items I found in my barn today.  All free and vintage!)

  1. I saw that mantle over at PB and was wondering if it was worth the $$. I’m so glad you checked it out! It looks gorgeous! Plus your accessories look lovely, too (you know green is one of my favorite colors). Also, what a gorgeous penny blanket! Did you make it? It’s lovely. You inspire me!

    • Angela,

I feel the mantle is worth the $$$. No I didn’t make the throw, I purchased it from Garnet Hill. It was originally expensive, but I got it on sale, then a 50.00 off coupon from the company, and free shipping. otherwise I would have never purchased it. I am glad you are inspired! Thanks for the nice comments.

      Have a great weekend
