Kid’s Polka Dot Fall Trees

As I mentioned the other day, we recently had a spontaneous art day here at the farmhouse, and made fun cute leaf bugs. We also made these super easy polka dot fall trees. These trees are a perfect project for any age, and I know your kids will love painting these as much as mine did.  But don’t leave all the fun for your kids, jump in and create with them–it’s the perfect therapy and so relaxing.

How to make Polka Dot Fall Trees

Supplies you will need

  • Paper
  • Q-tips
  • paint brush
  • water based paint in red, brown, green, yellow, orange.

  • Paint the trunk and branches first with your paint brush.
  • Then start dipping q-tips in the colors of paint and filling up the tree with polka dots. The more dense we filled in the tree with dots, the better they looked.
  • Let them dry and hang up!
**We used tracing paper and hung them in the window. They look great with the light shining through our fall trees.

Most of all in the mess of painting and creating I hope you just have fun, and enjoy your kids. Maybe you want to declare a creative day once in a while in your home. Having these special times with my kids brings us together and I learn so much about how my kids think and express themselves. It’s so worth the mess and sacrifice of time.

Happy Fall!
