Honeysuckle Color Of The Year (Are You In?)

Honeysuckle has been named the color of the year. Beating out last year’s turquoise (so they say). I love turquoise! While I am known as a pink girl, I personally can’t see myself using this color much in my home. Now give me this color to wear and I’m all over it. You see this pink color everywhere you go right now.

So what do you think? Are you in?

Where would you use this color? Does it work anywhere in your house?

I have a house of boys, and I can’t see this working except in maybe my personal office, (which I don’t have!). I cringe when I  see people get too wrapped up in trends and people telling us what is in or out. In my opinion we should fill our home with all things that we love and that inspire us. Whether it be Honeysuckle or Turquoise!

I’m dying to know what you think.  Would you use this color?  If so, where?

  1. Honeysuckle is not the name I would use for that color. It is very pretty but I agree with you it should be on clothes and accessories. Not on walls and carpets. A little too intense for anything as large as a wall or carpet. Works fine in small increments only.

  2. I wouldn’t call that color honeysuckle either. The honeysuckle bushes I have are either yellow or orange blooms. Never saw a pink on. I do like the color but would only use it in small amounts or in a little girls room. Still lovin turquoise here!

  3. I totally agree with you! Everyone should fill their homes with what ever makes them happy.

Im not huge on the ‘honeysuckle’ which is actually just a jazzed up coral in my opinion. But Im lovin the third picture with the gray walls!

  4. I love this color! I think it is really cheerful – a happy, fun color. I painted a small nightstand in our guest room this color and it looks great. It brings out a similar shade of pink in some vintage linens I have around the room.

  5. It’s very pretty, however I would only use it sparingly like in throw pillows.

  6. I could see myself using this as an accent, pillows, curtains, summer bedding! I keep my main colours neutral for the most part. Wood tones, creamy white and a fair amount of green. I add red for the colder months. Spring/Summer I add turquoise with my scheme. I used to do white, pink and green before that. I am sure one day I will go back to that, the brighter pink(honeysuckle) would be awesome!!
But it will always fall under Shabby Chic/Vintage!!!

  7. I would absolutely use it, but probably not for a full room. I would use it as accents ONLY because the rest of the family would never leave it as just a color choice! lol And yes, we shouldn’t cower to the decisions of ‘those that know’ for our homes. We should do what we like and leave the rest!

  8. It’s bright that’s for sure. No, I wouldn’t use it in my home, although I like it. A little too trendy for my taste. I’m with Cara…I thought honeysuckle was yellow. Guess it’s different colors!

Sorry, I live with men , we dont do pink.

I like this color but I think this would be best as a color for accent pieces not large items.

I would never cover furniture or walls with this color…maybe throw pillows and some accessories for the spring or summer. But, it’s a beautiful color for a blouse – in fact I wore one yesterday that was just about this color. Guess I was in style and didn’t know it! lol

  12. Pretty in pink! Does work but in our home I’m struggling with getting away from beautiful beige maybe next time on the walls. This past week I purchased a vintage quilt. The back color is a wonderful bright pink and I love the color.

I love the color. Have used it with Green and beige for years as accent color. My husand does not mind the pink accents in my bedroom and on the white wicker back porch. Not for wall color a little too much.

  14. YES it is such a gorgeous color!! I want some new pillows and now am crushing on adding some in that color family!

I completely agree!! Surround yourself with your happy colors :)

  16. You know, oddly… I think I’m digging the patterned door!
