Today I am grateful for influence…for legacy.
Today I am thinking about my Grandma who passed away this time, last year. I am pondering what she left behind. In the end it wasn’t about what she accomplished, or her savvy business mind. Most of all she was a woman who loved life, she had a zest for living that was unquenchable. I hope I can walk on in her footsteps.
I am grateful for the legacy she left behind, and most of all her love for Jesus and the Word of God. She had a hunger for the things of the Lord and a passion to share it where ever she could.
I am grateful for jam making, and cookie baking. For pie crust recipes, and homemade bread. For beautiful bouquets, and picking berries. Most of all I am grateful for the lasting influence she had on our family and on my children.
My kids knew a Grandma who loved them, and instilled a passion for bettering one’s self, she encouraged learning, reading, and growing in anyway that we could. I will always be grateful for these precious memories. All I have are memories now, but I am thrilled that they are sweet ones-that I can embrace.
I am grateful to you Grandma. You were a beautiful woman who’s influence will live on. Thank you for your legacy of faith, and hunger for reading the Bible when you could barely even see. I will do my best to carry it on!
Today I am grateful and my heart is full.

Beautiful, Denise. It’s a wonderful heritage to have had a grandparent who followed God. I was fortunate to have that also, and I feel the blessing of their prayers still pouring into me and my children. Have a blessed weekend!

What a lovely tribute to your Grandmother. I was drawn to your blog by your photo, and was so glad that I came to read it. I am a Grandmother now, and I SINCERELY hope that someday my grandchildren will be able to say such sweet words that I have been able to teach them about Walking with God, How to Cook, How to be friends with others, how to help those in need etc….you have been truly blessed by her life and I have no doubt you will continue her legacy as well!! My grandparents were such a positive influence on me too. Drove two hours each every weekend to take me to their house when I was a child. They taught me how to love Jesus well, the most important lesson I could have learned. This is a lovely tribute to your grandmother.

This made me think of my own grandmother and what a wonderful legacy she will leave for me and my kids to remember. It’s truly a blessing to have people like them in our lives to fill our hearts and lives with so much love. Blessings to you!!
