Embracing Fall & The Delight Of Learning

We have been delighting in our first days of learning here in the Great Northwest. We wade in our creek, explore God’s creation, and read and read some more. We soak up math and letters and all that we can fit into our delight-driven learning. The twins are discovering the vast ability of their imaginations as they listen in to chapter books. They snuggle with me and beg for more!

Our days of homeschooling are what I call relaxed structure, and I wouldn’t trade them for anything in the world. What a privilege to spend these precious fleeting days with my boys.

These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. Deuteronomy 6:6-7

I know not everyone is called to home educating, but I am so glad that God has called me here with peace and a knowing that I am right where He wants me for this season.

I am embracing fall, delighting in this season, and it’s a great place to be.

How about you? What season has God called you to?

  1. I miss homeschooling my kids. I miss them being home with me. But at this time of our life, they are being well educated using most of the same curriculum that I would use at home. They have great teachers. For the first time in 20 years I can focus on learning how to truly keep house and learn to do it efficiently not just barely keeping my head above water each day.
