Creative Uses For Vintage Finds

If you know me by now, I love using vintage finds in my home. I love finding creative uses for antiques and flea market treasures. I found these inspiring ideas the other day and couldn’t wait to share them with you. I think these pretty much speak for themselves.

An old iron piece used for a coat rack…

An old window transformed into a cabinet…

A bird cage used for organizing stationary…

An old tin caddy used for organizing bath products…

Old dressers pulls repurposed as wall hooks…

Part of a bifold door or large shutter used as a message center…

Picket fencing remade into a magazine caddy and even holds the toilet paper…

And, vintage glass containers used for bath salts.

I hope you love these ideas as much as I did. Tell me which ones you like the best!

  1. Thanks for sharing these ideas, Denise! I must say that I am inspired and if I just look around my house, I could find more “purpose” in just about everything! All it takes is a creative eye on a mission…..and a little help from your blog :) Have a great weekend!

I love the re-purposed birdcage! If my desk were larger, I’d enjoy the whimsy of having it there, holding all my pretty cards…

  6. The bird cage idea is great! I’ve always been partial to vintage bird cages anyway but I didn’t want to just set them out empty or with a plant inside like I’ve seen a million times.

  7. I love the old window turned into a wall cabinet—that is my favorite!!! I also like the rusty old tin holder for organization as well. Very pretty! : )

  8. love the vintage drawer pulls. great idea! also like the picket fence magazine and toilet paper holder–great idea/great combo:)

  9. Ooh, I like all! The drawer pulls on the wall, love them; the birdcage stationery holder, smart idea; love the window made into a cabinet. Really, all of them are inspiring! Thanks for sharing with us!

  10. I love love love the birdcage turned stationary station. And the vintage window. I think I just love them all. Thanks for sharing. :)

  11. Love these ideas! My favorite is the bifold door or large shutter used as a message center. I could use that in my office!

  12. Do I have to pick just one? The iron coat rack is just so clever and I could really use it. And the window/cabinet is just stunning, especially in it’s presentation!

  13. Hey Denise, just love the cabinet made into the shelf. Whenever I see peeling paint my heart goes pitter patter! Wow. Wonder how they did that. I’m pretty handy with my chop saw and air compressor/ staple gun combo. Could you tell me where you got the picture please? Then maybe I can “blow” the picture up and figure out how they did that. The back looks like distressed beadboard to me…..hmmmmm my mind is going crazy with ideas. thanks so much….

  14. These ideas are absolutely wonderful. Can’t decide which I like best… guess I’ll have to use them all!! Thanks for sharing all these great suggestions.
